Installation

Choose your platform

DOCU.expert is available on multiple platforms. Choose the one that best suits your needs.

Desktop application

Recommended

Maximum privacy. Works offline. Local processing.

Web version

No installation required. Access from any browser.

System requirements

Minimum requirements

Processor: Intel Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or higher
RAM: 8 GB minimum (16 GB recommended)
Storage: 2 GB for the application + space for documents
System: Windows 10+, macOS 11+, Ubuntu 20.04+

GPU Note

For faster processing of large documents, a CUDA-compatible GPU (NVIDIA) or Metal (Apple Silicon) is recommended. Without GPU, processing will use the CPU.

Installation steps

Windows

Download the file docu-expert-setup.exe

Run the installer and follow the on-screen instructions

Open DOCU.expert from the start menu or desktop shortcut

macOS

Download the file docu-expert.dmg

Open the DMG file and drag DOCU.expert to the Applications folder

The first time, right-click and select "Open" to authorize the application

Linux

Download the file docu-expert.AppImage

Make the file executable: chmod +x docu-expert.AppImage

Run the application with double-click or from terminal

First configuration

When opening DOCU.expert for the first time, the configuration wizard will guide you through these steps:

1. Select data location

Choose where your documents and indexes will be stored. By default, a folder in your user directory is used.

2. AI model download

The application will automatically download the necessary models (~2-4 GB). This only happens once.

3. Ready to use

Once the configuration is complete, you can start creating experts and uploading documents.

Use the web version

If you prefer not to install anything, you can use DOCU.expert directly from your browser:
